Best (legal) way to get let go

So I’ve been working for my current employer for almost 2 years. The work environment has been average to below average but I’ve been able to manage. I’ve accepted an offer of employment from another company, but my current employment contract states I’m required to give them 60 days notice. I’ve politely requested they allow me to resign early, but they have denied that request. I don’t want to be sued for potential damages, so ideally I can get them to let me go so I can go to my next employer. Any ideas?
