I love this sub and think its purpose is necessary. With that out of the way i want to shout out my job and let you all know that good bosses DO exist so dont get down by this sub and think every boss is garage.
I work for a small company as a software engineer and my boss busts ass every day and during crunch time he pulls 19 hour days. He never really gets mad at people for screwing up and he uses it as a “well you learned from a mistake moment”. And finger pointing is considered counter productive. Any mandatory time beyond 8 hours a day is redeemable at a later date and rarly asked for.
Of course its not all best job of all the time, the pay could be better for the work asked. But when you have a leader as a boss its kinda hard to tell yourself to move on for more money.
Also i went through alot of personal hardship over the past 2 years and my boss gave me all the time i need and told me family first.
So the point is, dont give up looking for your unicorn im sure they exist and while this job isnt perfect its perfect for me right now and happy about my boss.
