TL;DR – caught that newer hires are being offered double the bonus goal I was
Background (sorry for so generic) -I recently started a new job at a different company. Due to several related factors, it's been a downward spiraling situation almost from the beginning, not just for myself, but even for tenured folks. There have been several people leaving, one didn't even give notice (the one who I was supposed to shadow to learn the job). I've been told my work will triple, yet I'm so new I don't have any idea what I'm doing. Needless to say, I've been looking very earnestly for a new job.
Management keeps saying “it will get better” but no real plan is in place (at least none shared with this peon).
I found a position listing and asked my manager if that was for the open positions we have. I was informed it was. Of course, it doesn't provide salary info but it did state a certain percentage bonus. But, the kicker of it is that it's double what I was given. I brought that up to my manager and was told that, no, I was mistaken, that my bonus goal was that higher %. I informed that I have in writing the lower % and the manager said they were “going to email HR.” mm-hmm -The manager knows what I was given because they are the ones who sent me the offer letter.
I guess if I hadn't seen that posting, I would have been just unaware. It's not going to matter because I'm going to get another job.
