Hello,
I worked at this company for 7 months. I recently decided to quit.
After quitting, they’re forcing me to pay back a bonus of $800. I signed a contract agreement awhile back not knowing I would be in this situation.
Is this legal or enforceable? For reference I’m in Washington state.
Agreement states..
1.
I__that I will be receiving a $200 bonus starting after my 90 days of my employment for 6 months. The bonus money needs to be repaid if I leave the job
BEFORE 6 months, the start of bonus month. Once I am employed at “x” for 6 consecutive months, there is no penalty or need to repay the money I receive in bonuses.
2. I agree to give at least 6 weeks of notice before leaving my jobs as a “x” at “x”.
If I Leave the job in less than 6 weeks of my notice, then I agree to pay a penalty of $2,000 to ”x”.
Edit: they’re giving me $200 each month, starting after 90 days (3 months)
