So I currently live in Cornwall (southern tip of the UK) but began looking at scotland due to having friends there and the housing market being less f*cked.
I'm a Production Engineer and applied for jobs that my skillset could be applied to but oh boy was I not prepared for the application questions from some huge companies.
What level of education do your parents have?
Are/were your parents ever divorced?
Have you or any close family members been homeless?
Are you planning to start a family within the next 2 years?
Did you attend private or community educations?
There were several others that focused essentially on if you have the right “Nobby Background”. It has no relevancy as to how I'd operate in the workplace.
The final kicker was instead of being the normal assh*les and asking how much I'm currently payed, they requested 3 photos of my last 3 pay slips to prevent “insincere payment discussions”.
Blows my mind how bad this is for the UK, we are supposed to have a tiny trickle of dignity on our workers but guess I'm wrong.
