Boss adding some extra duties to job, need advice

My job entails waiting at home for customers to call, then I help them out over the phone or go out to fix the issue. Boss said they want to add some extra duties to the job that would essentially keep us one of busy in-between calls by doing work at the office while the other teammember remains out in the field (at home or doing the visits). These extra duties are actually work for another company location that is understaffed, it’s not a normal part of my job and there is no extra compensation. The thing is, I know I probably will end up being expected to do these extra duties while other people get to stay home because I live very close to the company office. I’m determined not to do more than my fair share, if others aren’t taking their turn at the office, then I’m not going in (I’ve been in this situation before at a previous job and ended up being expected to do the extra work while others who refused never had to). None of us want to do these extra tasks, they will distract from the normal work we do.

Wondering if I have a legal leg to stand on in case they give me a hard time about this? Is it discriminatory to chose me because I live closer? The extra duties will be starting soon. I’m hoping my coworkers don’t abandon me to save themselves from the extra work, but they might.
