Work in at a medical supply company making all kinds of equipment. Today I was sent to work a machine I never worked before and my boss didn’t teach me how to do anything. It started off well, the machine was already set up. Once the materials ran out I had to figure out how to set them up myself and I ran into some trouble several times installing each part needed. I tried for a while but couldn’t do it. I ask him for help and the douchebag won’t help me. He pretty much just taunts me and leaves. Whatever I get paid good. A while later he comes back sees me struggling and doesn’t help me. He tells me “If you can’t do this you might as well quit.” I tell him to show me how to do it and he walks away. I was pissed, I keep trying for a while struggling and I was able to do it. Next the machine needed another part to be added so I went to a different supervisor to see if he could show me how to add it. They were both together so when I ask him the first boss asked me in a really shitty sarcastic way if I was able to fix it. I replied with equal energy “Yeah thanks for your help” and he lost it. “Don’t come at me with that attitude I don’t have to do anything for you!” I lost it “Yes you do you it’s your job you’re the production manager they have you here to make sure we’re producing, you see me struggling there and I’m not producing. If you’re not here to help production then what are you here for?” He says he’s giving me a warning I tell him I don’t care. I go back and my coworkers are telling me to calm down. He comes back with the write up, I refuse to sign it and then it was time to go home. I don’t know what’s gonna happen tomorrow or what to do. Can anyone give me some advice on what I can do? What can I do if I get fired?
TLDR: Boss put me to work on a new machine without training me for it or help me when I asked. He got mad at me for not knowing how, got out of pocket so I called him out and he wrote me up. Need advice on what I can do to cover my ass.
This is bullshit I work hard and they’re not capable or training us. Some dude got his finger cut off which I’m 100% sure woulda been avoided had we got training.
