Boss demanding resignation, contract expires in two weeks

I have worked for a company for one year under contract. During that time my boss has made it very clear there is no upward mobility for me, meaning I would have to stay in my current position. My boss has told me “we don't have to promote you” verbally on many different occasions. When she speaks of me she tells of my errors as if they are something I constantly do, instead of a mistake I made and corrected. Example: “zydr8te wears inappropriate shoes to work”.

I wore a pair of Chucks once, found out they weren't acceptable and didn't do it again. Stiff like that, so I don't want to stay.

My contract ends in two weeks and I'm not planning on renewing. I already have other employment.

My boss has emailed asking that I resign. When I ignored that she texted me asking “didn't you mention resigning once?” I didn't ever mention resigning. I answered her email forwarding her emails where rhe company has stated there isn't an upward position available for me. I told her since my contact is almost up it seems redundant to resign.

She says if I don't resign, they will assume I want to stay and automatically renew my contract. Is that even legal?

I don't want to work there bc they don't want me. But now they need me to resign? What should I do?
