I caught COVID for the second time and went home last week. For the first couple days I filed work from home requests that were granted and worked on some projects. At that point I had more or less a semi-severe sinus infection.
Once Friday night rolled around I became very sick. Very high fever, coughing my brains out, super congested and pounding headache. It stayed that way for 3 days before I started to feel better.
Anyway, I joined the meeting remotely on Monday and my boss asked point blank why the work wasn't done. “Because I have covid and was bedridden” was my answer. She coldly.marked them not done with a sarcastic “so you didn't get anything done” and moved on.
But that wasn't all. She went and reversed all of my work remote requests and unapproved. Meaning I wouldn't be paid for them. I am a realatively new employee and don't have the sick time yet.
So yesterday I was feeling relatively ok and put in a work remote request, which was denied. So I wasn't about to work for free. I tried the same thing today and waiting to hear back.
I think my boss is pissed I didn't work through the most sick I've ever been. And that it's going to be held against me that I had covid.
I should mention policy states I can't return to the office until I test negative. That's all that's keeping me from returning to work but yet she isn't letting me work from home as some kind of retaliation.
