Boss had me work with no pay

So get this- it’s my “first” day at my new job. Before this full time position I was part time at a different location for the same company. I picked up one shift at this location and decided to go full time. Easy work. No coworkers on shift. Bunch of money. Now the company seems fine.. it’s established and everything. But I had some red flags coming in. Nobody responds from HR to regional managers to operations managers. It was hard and I had to hunt this position down when it opened up. My offer letter took days to get and nobody could understand why. A shit ton of email threads of them going back and forth at one point telling me “I emailed HR twice to see what is going on, I’ll keep you posted”. So kind of a messy start. Anyway, day one of shift rolls around and…

Anyway, day one of shift rolls around and my boss comes in right at his shift start time- not a minute early or late. I am in the middle of working with a patient at the clinic. backstory time when I came in for shift I noticed an empty pen holder sitting on the desk and all the pens on the desk, so I put them in the holder. No biggie right? Wrong. He came in and immediately put his stuff down, took the pens out of the holder, tossed the highlighter across the desk in front of me and said “we’ll put that back where it belongs”. Weird. Then he tells me to move because he has to clock in. I get up in the middle of my patient report and just talk to patient instead. He then tells me that I need to “clock out because we only get 40hrs a week. Last year the whole company sent an email saying we need to watch I and people were messing around with their time cards.” He legit would not answer my questions until I clocked out. I stayed an hour past shift doing training. When I went back to work tonight I fixed my time card to reflect the hour spent there. Took a picture of it too in case they try to change it on me.

Also he didn’t speak to the patient for a while and I asked how dudes injury was and he said “yea it’s good.. am I good to go?!” Boss says “idk it’s your injury, you good?” Very rude.

TLDR; on my first day boss came in and tossed some stuff around rudely, then wouldn’t answer my questions until I clocked out on my first day because we only get a straight 40hrs a week
