The other day I was at work. I won't be specific yet but this is one of the places you go if you have some house chores to do but don't like orange. I was the only cashier on the front end for about 30 minutes backed up. My GM saw this and walked right by. Of course this upset me some so I went up to him and said “What the hell, you are going to walk right by without calling for help or anything?”. He goes if you need help call. I said you walked right by and saw that, you should do something. I didn't have time, I was checking out three orders at once. As I left I may have said “this place is a fucking joke”.
Of course, because my boss was upset about these he says “Turn in your uniform and leave”. So I turn in my uniform, tell my direct boss I'm leaving because I just got fired and leave.
Yesterday I get a call from that boss asking if I am planning on coming back into work. I said you fired me so not really. My boss goes that was a misunderstanding and it was only for the day. If this was the case they wouldn't wait till after I missed 3 days of work to call. Told him I'd think about it but he runs the worst store I have ever worked at. He said even if I just wanted to come talk about what was wrong that was fine.
Now, here is where I need some advice. I definitely am not going back to work for him even though he does not know it yet. I'm thinking of telling him I'll talk but I want his boss on speaker phone at a minimum. I'd ask his boss what he thought it meant when you are told to turn in your uniform and leave(think current boss only said I wasn't fired because of unemployment). I'd also inform him of getting calls about being at work while on orders which is a USERRA violation. However, I'm not sure if this will be a waste of my time or not.
TLDR:boss fires me and after three days of missed work calls asking where I am because he didn't really fire me.
