Boss taking my tips for little reason?

Hey so i work at this little restaurant and most of the time its great and i really enjoy my time waitressing. Its a small little place with a lot of locals, homey feel, and i usually work with my boss too. Generally hes a good guy, got me the job with no experience, gives me meals, etc. So at this restaurant we have a system to split the tips at the end of the week between all boh and foh based on how many shifts worked which seems most fair and logical to me. I sorta say okay cos its not so busy in August. This would all be alright except that shift customers tip me (only staff on foh) and 2 boh £52 in total which my boss says is his because its an ‘excess day’. Just doesnt sit right or feel that fair, especially as i only make £8 an hour which is below rate here in London.
