Long story short I’m in the final round of interviews with music tech company I want to work for but the pay is literally 20k a year below what my goal was for income 50k. It would be a lateral pay move from my last job. I can pay my bills but it’s just keeping above water.
I’m also in final rounds for another company doing e commerce operations but it’s not remote and in the field I want to be in (I’m trying to switch to tech specifically music tech). The pay however would be something much better (75k range) .
Knowing we just entered a recession im nervous taking the lower paying tech job I’d be stuck at that salary for over a year.
At the same time it’s hard to get into tech specifically music tech companies. Should I grab the bigger pay and try to keep finding a diff tech position ? Or should I sacrifice / roll the dice and get my foot in the door. I’m 32 no kids plan on it soon though and feel like the salary at the tech job is pretty low . I’m also def overqualified for the position. It’s basically entry level.
Thoughts ?
