I have autism spectrum disorder. I am very naive, honest, and enthusiastic. I work at a big academic medical center. I am getting bullied pretty bad at my work place. A few of them accused me of theft, vandalism, and substance abuse.
My boss fired me based on the false accusations, but HR forced him to take me back. However, my boss retaliated by putting me on probation for things I have not done (tardiness without any evidence/previous documentation). I come to work at 6 AM everyday (instead of 7:30 which is a set time to start work). I reached out to my boss’s supervisor regarding this retaliation, but no response last 2 days. Should I reach out to HR again? I am frightened by this retaliation.
I get that he wanted me out to end the bullying going on at this office, but this is not just a career- this is my livelihood 🥺
The specific incident which led to my termination (which was then overturned by the HR)
My boss repeatedly asked me about the missing items (it was a phone charger, and two reflex hammers). When I honestly told him I do not know where they are, he fired me immediately. Reason described in writing was: promoting an atmosphere of mistrust, which creates a toxic environment non-conducive to learning and work
My location: New York, United States
Profession: Resident Physician
