This happened within the last few minutes. A local Birria taco truck that frequents a local brewery I like posted on IG that they’re hiring a part time cook weds-sun availability. They stated the pay would be $13-$15 DOE.
Someone before me commented along the lines of “that’s shitty pay” to which they replied “ok $20 with a bachelors and $25 with a masters” obviously being sarcastic.
I replied back that min wage in our state and county for businesses under 25 employees is $14. I also mentioned that they should know that cooking in a hot metal truck is not easy work.
I received a notice that they “liked” the comment and when I went to check it seems they’ve blocked me. Friggin cowards. The funny thing is last time I went to the brewery they were supposed to be there and I was excited to try their food but they were 3 hours late that day so I wasn’t able to try. Luckily good Birria trucks are plentiful out here so no big loss. I’m not going to give a dime to a proprietor who thinks paying the bare minimum is acceptable. This time of year it’s in the mid 90’s during the day which means probably 120 in the truck. Disgusting and cruel business owners.
