I think it would be interesting to share the Minimim-by law benefits we see in our countries for being hired, that way we can compare and be able to demand what is fair with the knowledge on how other countries fare.
THESE ARE THE BARE MINIMUM COMPANIES GIVE TO EMPLOYEES BY LAW
I will start with my country, Mexico:
Full-time positions:
Payment on time.
6 days PTO starring one year, one additional year per day.
Prima vacacional: 25% extra payment during vacation.
Aguinaldo: End of year bonus, additional to our payment, equivalent to 15 days worked (minimum)
PTU: Utilities, all companies generating profits must separate (approx) 10% their profit and it must be distributed among workers.
Weekly rest: one day a week.
AFORE: Investment funds for our retirement, equivalent to USA 401k
Public Healthcare: your employee must play the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) your quota for you to access health services.
Taxes: if you have only one boss, our bosses do our taxes retention and pass it directly to the SAT (Taxing Administration Service). At the end of the year you mark only additional income and things that count towards tax return.
Newborn leave: 12 weeks for mother's (total, prior and post birth), 5 days for fathers.
Adoption leave: 6 weeks mother's, 5 days men.
Antiquity payment: when you leave a job you must be paid according to how long you worked there. Payment equal to 12 days worker per every year of service when:
1) fired unjustly
2) has 15 or more years of service.
3) Justified renounce of labor
4) death of the employee, paid to beneficiaries.
Fired indemnization: if fired unjustly, you must be paid up to 3 months salary.
