Call center job at a brokerage company gave me panic attacks

I started a new job as a customer service representative in May of 2020 right after graduation. I was super excited because a friend of mine had been there for a few years and she loved it. She had been promoted a few times and had great leadership. It was the worst job I’ve ever had in my life. It was when the stock market was insanely unpredictable and people were calling in all the time. I was told there would be chances for training and I would be able to meet with my manager to talk about advancement opportunities. That never happened. And the callers were mean. It was the worst job I’ve ever had in my life. It was when the stock market was insanely unpredictable and people were calling in all the time. I was told there would be chances for training and I would be able to meet with my manager to talk about advancement opportunities. That never happened. And the callers were mean. I cried all the time because the callers were blaming us for their investments losing money. They would call me stupid and yell at me for the wait times. Some of the old men would hit on me. The company would never tell us when they were doing maintenance to the website; so people would call angry because they couldn’t make trades. My manager would give me 15 minutes to calm down after having a panic attack before I had to come back. And there had to be less than a minute between one call ending and taking another one.
You could be promoted to a broker which would allow you to do trades for people, and this would also be a riskier position. (You could get in trouble if you give people advice and if you do the trade incorrectly). You only get a $2k raise for moving up and that was if you passed all of the exams the first time. Well I was about to pass all of my exams and I was freaking out so I started to look for a new job and found a great one.
I quit the day I passed my last test and gave a one week notice. But I had to go have a exit interview with our director. He asked why I was leaving and I told him about the panic attacks, the lack of meetings with my manager, the overall lack of communication to representatives, and that my new job was giving me a 30% raise. He still had the nerve to ask me not to quit. I still did. Don’t work for a call center.
