3 weeks ago 24 Year Old UPS Driver Esteban Chavez Jr. Died of Heatstroke in his truck, in California. I'm a UPS driver in NYC and we've had several drivers hospitalized for heatstroke in the last few weeks as well. In one case a supervisor even initially refused to take him to the hospital. They're refusing to install air conditioning or fans in our trucks (even though the right to fans is in our contract) and are simultaneously installing driver facing cameras with audio and video capabilities, so they can hyper-surveil us while we work. UPS treats us like disposable machines. It's time they put people over profit.
