I'm an executive at a startup who recently appointed an interim CEO. Their conduct within four weeks has been intimidating in nature, and has made the overall workplace experience unhealthy under non-sustainable conditions. I'm concerned that the sitting CEO will attempt to remain in power at any cost, including the well-being of its management, and am curious how one in my role could call on the board of directors to re-evaluate the interim CEO based on governance best practices, and/or enforce their removal should their behavior be deemed a risk to the business and/or organizational members.
Is this fundamentally my right as part of the executive team? What protocols or guidelines should be in place, and what resources can I read to better inform my approach?
