I have a friend that has not been all that happy with the amount HR programs that she has to participate in. She works for a very large corporation and one of their objectives is about mental health. They continue to pry about how she is feeling, if she’s okay on an almost daily basis. When in reality they really could care less. They offer their employees to speak with people about their personal matters who are not trained professionals, and are simply other employees that volunteer themselves to help others with their mental health/awareness.
To me, this seems illegal since it’s a health matter. Plus, they are using people that are not educated to speak with other employees about their mental state. If this is legal, it shouldn’t be. I’m curious if anyone can shed some light on the legalities of this subject.
