Is there a point to the anti-work movement? A end goal?
I ask because I have always said as robots take over my jobs, it leaves less jobs for humans. Thus more people with no income. Which is why I would be for some universal monthly income. I kind of like the idea of how things work in Star Trek, granted I don't know if we would ever get to such a place in the world.
Is this sort of the idea of anti-work? To add more, I and disabled and got migraines 22 times a month. I've only ever had three jobs and they didn't last long because no one wants a worker whos out 99% of the time. I used to get “ssi” checks. But it was a max of $715 a month. Which is obviously impossible to live on. Now I don't get any checks because my I am now married and my wife works. But even with her job, life feels impossible to live, at least the US, as it feels like a couple needs to have 3-4 jobs just to pay off basic bills (rent/water/gas/electricity/phone…etc).
To make it worse she works at Amazon. Sure you get paid “more” than the average job, but at the cost of your life and sanity. I don't really want to compare it to a sweatshop of course, but for American standards, Amazon is a hole to work for. I can see why they are constantly hiring/firing people. They just don't care. I know they would prefer all robots over humans if they could. Workers are expected to be perfect robots.
Anyways…rant over.
