Compared to the US, are Canada’s wages more livable or less? I see that most minimum wages are based off of provinces. I guess similar to our states, however I am not convinced their wages are much more livable than the US. Yes, they are higher than the US, but their housing prices are too damn high. I wonder if anyone actually makes minimum wage in Canada or if basically most jobs pay a lot more than minimum wage? I live in a state with no mandated minimum past the federal and to be honest I do not know one person who actually makes minimum wage, not saying people do not. But where I live most employee wages are competitive and most employers try to offer more money to get people to actually work there. I am sure it’s not like this in all parts of the state, but living close to a city it’s pretty much mandatory. Do people in Canada make enough money to afford the insane cost of housing and do they have adequate low income housing? I will say the US is absolutely terrible when it comes to access to low income housing, although that can also vary by state and city, but overall i think affordable housing in America is really bad. Just wanted to find out an firsthand knowledge on the situation between living in the US vs living in Canada.
