I am a senior engineer – aspired to take more of a leadership role, but I don't think I can. I can't sleep at night if I do even a little bit manipulative stuff, so I don't; I see this happening all the time around me and people are promoted and praised. I see managers around me talking BS, and butting their way in even when they don't have a scope/expertise. I have my flaws, but I am looking at ways to grow in such an environment.
