Tl,dr: Cant get a job that offers all the benefits I want because i never choose high paying jobs over quality of live jobs.

I never had the dream of becoming rich. It was always “if I have a roof over my head and can effort a decent living its enough for me.”
I started at my company nearly 10 years ago and i managed to climb up the ladder, from temporary worker to worker to supervisor. I always choose my new position valuing time and quality of live over money. E.g. flexible working hours are more important for me than 100 bucks more or less. If I found position X more interesting then position Y I still would take position X, even if Y pays more.
So now there is a open position in higher management and I fulfill the qualifications needed. I know the colleges and they would give me the position, it has flexible working hours, Home Office and finally no more shift working. The problem is, it pays to much.
HR stated it is very difficult to “jump” 2 wage classes at once and it would be better if I first take over another position that pays more for around 2 years before trying my luck again at the position I want.
This makes me absolute furious. I cant get the job I dreamed of because I did not value “more money”, did not jump like a dog every time somebody offered me more money for a lame ass job a fucking trained monkey could do. I don't wanna do a Job that would not fit me for 2 years just to earn more money just to be able to get more money IF I DONT NEED MORE MONEY
fucking crazy ass situation….. Any ideas?
I did not talk to HR personally yet. The information about the difficultys from jumping wage clases at once was a information my “maybe future boss” gave me.
