“Can’t” meet your salary expectations

I just applied for a job that calls itself entry level, but is also a Project Management role that expects an awful lot. No salary is listed, and it asks you to list your salary expectations in the cover letter. I got an email back pretty quickly confirming that it is an entry-level position (I challenged that in my cover letter, citing the expectations), and for that reason they won't be able to match my salary expectation (to match my current entry-level wage – I'm 33 with an MSc and experience in a couple of industries and management experience). I'm not after advice. I just wanted to document this nonsense. It's an entry-level wage, sure. It's not an entry level position.
