Assume you rented a house for $2,000 a month. You own the home and it is completely paid off. You also live in another house that is also paid off. Would you quit your job (most likely a higher salary and benefits) to enjoy life and never work again for some money to survive? I would assume a very frugal life. Note: I don't own a home but I would like to.

If i keep my file open and keep moving the mouse, will i be considered productive ?
After a longtime of working in food service (about a 5 years, 24m) and leaving for 2 years, I tried to find different careers with not much success expect a carpet cleaning company for almost a year, that didn’t work out, left in April this year 2023. being unemployed as I type this and with more then 100 applications in the last 14 days sent in w/ 2 interviews in that time, I have to resort back to old habits and return to the work I so hated. I mean it’s quick money but it’s so incredibly hard to land anything outside my experience it’s so discouraging. nobody emailing or calling or contacting me in any way is that normal ? Is anyone else having an incredibly hard time job hunting ?
Hello Everyone, In picturing a future with more leisure and efficiency, what AI tool do you wish existed to help us achieve a more balanced, work-free lifestyle?
so i just wanted to get a little insight on how most people go about these types of job opportunities. i want to try seeing what’s good with the cannabis industry, and a brand new dispensary is being built in my city so i applied and got the job. they asked me if i had any vacations planned before hiring me and because i incorrectly assumed i wouldn’t have to ask for thanksgiving or christmas off, i didn’t ask for those holidays off. i asked what major holidays we would be open for, and was told we will be open 365 days a year. i have never worked a minimum wage job that doesn’t give me major holidays like thanksgiving and christmas off, so i told them i would be with my family on those major holidays. they told me that since it’s my 90 day probation period (it’s everyone’s…
Illegal as in not hiring someone due to pregnancy is considered discrimination; however, in the U.S., there are “at no fault” states, which means the employer can fire you at any time for any reason,, and the employeee can quit at any time for any reason. It really amps the anxiety. Correct me at all about any of this I get incorrect; I am personally only able to refer to Georgia and Virginia, and only retail positions, which are.. horrible. So the first instance happened in 2015. I had been working at a retail clothing store as a Key Holder for six months. I was never late, never called out, and worked doubles once a week. Then I found out I was pregnant. The same day I told my managers, they called me into the office and suspended me without pay for two weeks because I “couldn't handle the stress…
Boss who quizzes but never contributes…
I have a boss who joined our team almost a year ago and he does this thing where he asks the team rapid questions as if he's some sort of teacher and we're students, but he's dumb as a bag of rocks and gets offended anytime you ask him for the answer even if you know it. He says dumb stuff like, I'm asking to see what you think even if you say you don't know or have no opinion on it. Funny thing is me and our crew of 10 does all of his work that he gets the credit for. I'm considering quitting any day now. I'm definitely leaving as it's not good for my mental health. Answering a question with a question directed back to me or a crew member is not leadership. Any suggestions?
