Title says it all. I have just about had enough of my job and want to quit, but want to use up all of my benefits before doing so. I’m in a state where you can get 12 weeks paid medical leave for health problems if you meet certain employment conditions, which I meet. Anybody ever done this before? How reluctant are doctors to help with something like this? I have been suffering from pretty bad, work-related depression recently, and want to use that as grounds for the medical leave, and state that I need the time to myself to work out my issues, with multiple therapy appointments a week that would conflict with my work schedule.

Felt like a professional broker getting no aid to trade… I won’t tell if you don’t tell
I 'was' been long-term unemployed but now I am on disability benefits for severe mental health issues, because that's unfortunately what has become of me. I no longer have a desire to look for work as I just cannot take the corporate world anymore. Anyway, without going into too much detail, I want to start socialising more as I am no longer interested in letting my joblessness stop me, but do get asked “what do you do?” or “where do you work?”. I feel I need to come up with a stock response that doesn't give too many details. What do you guys say when people ask?
A little back story in the situation. My employer took all shifts away because i was 10 minutes late to my shift (i have proof it was only 10 minutes) and because I refused to continue paying into an illegal tip out fund going directly to my boss. He has told everyone in a staff meeting he uses this money to cover losses and clean his restaurant. This is highly illegal and just wrong, so I refused to continue to pay into it. I have contacted the labour board in regards to this issue and any more including unpaid work hours(15 minute early rule) harassment, improper / no training, and reprisal against me for enforcing the health and safety standards be followed at my place of work. He has been contacted as well. I was missing 3 hours of pay for a shift I showed up 10 minutes late for…
