There is a guy on tiktok who was invited to cover the rebuilding of the I95 Bridge and he talked about the cost of a simple bottle of water at two different airports. At one, a normal, commercial, everyday airport, the water was $6 which is so expensive for an substance people need to literally keep living and a thing to carry that substance in. At the other airport, an incredibly nice, meant for the wealthy only air, this same bottle of water was $1. People working the national minimum wage have to work nearly an hour to afford a bottle of water at one place while others who can stand there while others make their money for them barely have any cost at all. Honestly I don't even know where I'm going with this other than to rant about how ridiculously unfair it is.

Why waste my time?
I had a call with a prospective employer last week. Halfway into the call, he tells me that a certain certification (with multiple tests) will be required 18 months post-start. I say that is fine. He then says he would feel more comfortable if I had one of the tests completed, despite that not being listed as a requirement on the job description. I am unsure what to say to that. He then goes on to tell me about other open positions and ends with “We will keep your resume on file”. WHY WASTE MY TIME if you need I wasn't wanted?!?!?
Yeah, sounds about right
Grindset dad.
How do I tell my grindset moron of a dad to shut up? He's 63 and doesnt even own the house he lives in and works like 60 hours a week then gets on my back for not following in his wage slave footsteps. 63 years old and makes less than £18 an hour and thinks he knows best.
I got this response for a job I applied to. I don't know how to feel about it- what do you think?
Am I unreasonable?
So I am a fully remote cyber security analyst right now. A recruiter came to me about a possible position in the Boston suburbs. Said I would have to relocate. I told him it would take a strong incentive for me to go. He asked what it would take and I told him. Relocation costs. Paid temporary housing for at least 2 months. Additional salary to cover commuting costs that I don't have now. Increased salary proportional to the cost of living increase between here and there which was 45%. I also said that my current mortgage is 2.65% (thanks VA loan). The average national rate is 7.1% at the time I checked. Told them I would require an amount to buy down my interest to 2.65 again. Considering the average cost of housing for a comparable house out there is 850-900k even with a 20% down payment they would…
