Manager still hasn’t backpaid me >:(
Long story short, after I turned 16 I was still being paid a 15 and under rate for my job (fast food) as well as not getting weekend and overtime rates. I did my research and found out what was wrong and approached my manger explaining the issues with him stating he would fix the issue and backpay me. Fast forward 2 months and I still haven't been paid. Whilst he said it would take some time, it shouldn't take this long. I messaged him recently purely asking if I can get an estimate as to when I would get paid, but he hasn't responded at all. I'm hoping I get the money on my next pay cyle soon but if not I will probably seek action. I understand he has 2 other businesses, one being a school he “runs” apparently, aswell as the franchise wanting him to get more…
Hey there – I need your help! I'm an independent musician and my ideal job allows me to earn enough while dedicating as much time as possible to my music. Aren't we all looking for something that lets us pursue our passion? I got laid off 3 months ago, and the only job I've managed to find is working as a German-speaking Market Research Telephone interviewer. This might sound like hell to some, but I'm actually fine with it for three main reasons: Hardly anyone ever accepts the survey, so most of the day is spent just calling people, occasionally reading out a script, and then calling the next person. I’m confident on the phone, get paid hourly, and I've made a good first impression. This job allows me to do my own music work on the side for most of the 8-hour shift, which is great. I'm trying to…
Made a risky move and resigned
No job lined up, I am living on the edge because I got to the point where I didn't want to live while working my current job. I had been waiting until I found a new job before I quit, but we all know how the market is these days and every day I got closer to completely breaking down at work. I have been searching since September, have only gotten 3 interviews, and have been waiting to hear back from 2 of those jobs for almost a month now. I know I will figure it out, there are temporary options that will bridge the gap while I job hunt. I just know I am ready for the next chapter. I am ready to take care of myself again.
I got promoted last year from a supervisor to a department manager during a time when all the other managers were quitting. I used the shitty store manager's desperation to keep me into getting a pretty large raise with my promotion, and let me tell you, I freaking earned it with blood, sweat, and tears. Dealing with his aggression towards customers and employees, protecting employees, trying to get him fired and out of the store, until he finally was. Now myself and the operations manager have been running the store ourselves for several months while corporate fails to find us a new manager and doing a kick ass job of it. Fast forward to now, merit reviews/raises come. For running the store, I get pennies for my raise, and my co-manager gets nothing. She's been here almost a decade to boot. I look at the manager from another store giving…
Can you blame them.

Chipotle workers look exhausted
Seriously, out of all fast food places Chipotle has the most wiped out, exhausted looking employees (at least in my city, upstate NY). What's going on over there?
