I (17M) quit McDonald’s, I was dealing with rude customers, shitty management, body aches and in between for a whopping $10.50/hour. I’ve been good at saving money and was able to quit while living comfortably off of savings and investments. This has been the best three weeks I’ve had in a while, my mental health is improving and I’m able to pursue my passion(s) more. Spend more time with family, etc. my advice is, save up your money and take a break from slaving for a while, it’s the best thing you can do for yourself.
Category: Antiwork
I’m not sure if this belongs here but I need advice. I am currently working at my company in accounts payable, but they are trying to transition my role completely. New job tasks would include showing apartments like a leasing agent. I’m honestly baffled that they don’t understand why I am not jumping on board with this. It’s also taking me from WFH onto a jobsite and with a commute. Do I have any rights here if I quit because the job is changing so drastically? I’m really concerned they are trying to force my hand so I’m desperate enough to take the new role to avoid quitting and losing unemployment. Any advice would be appreciated. Edit- I work in WA state, which is an at-will state
Speeding ticket at an old job
Company I used to work for left me a message I got a speed camera ticket in a company truck I’m November . I left the job in December because of the safety conditions they had with their trucks, but I’m wondering if I have to pay it? It is not tied to my license as I was not pulled over nor was I issued demerits. Would rather not have to pay the $120 to a company I’m not with but wondering if there is anything they can do about it legally? Thanks!
What is my next step?
gave my 4 weeks notice yesterday
Ive worked so hard for this company for almost 12 years, doing countless hours overtime and always giving it my all, we had our first child last October, had 3 months off and came back to less hours. After 3 weeks i realised how awful the place is for my physical and mental well-being and handed in my notice today. Used a standard template for letter then added this to it in the hopes that he realises and make my coworkers work lives better I would like to explain some reasons why I am leaving: I feel my skills and commitment to this company are not fully appreciated. I have put in 12 years of my life there and I am tired of working so hard compared to others for little reward. I feel that the company treats its employees rather poorly- seen as simply money making tools, especially our…
Was just checking jobs on LinkedIn & one was based in Denver, yet it has “Pay range unavailable Salary information is not available at the moment.” It wasn't an outlier. Is the law not being enforced? And/or does LinkedIn give zero f***s? Particularly disappointed in CO based companies not posting the salary range, but I also saw a Fortune 100 company that had no salary info.
