Can’t believe I have to work today.
I requested today (Valentines Day) off months ago, before Christmas even. 2 weeks ago my boss came to me and said even though my time off was approved, I’ll have to work because his partner got them Dua Lipa concert tickets. This is the third Valentines Day I’ve spent with this company, and I’ve had to work every single one, despite requesting each one off. Fuck this, my girlfriend deserves better than this and I don’t even know where to go from here. Oh yeah, my boss told me last week he might not even go to the concert. Anyway, I hope everyone had a good Valentines, I just needed to vent.
I get my health benefits through my wife and have been for the past six years (we actually got legally married the day after I turned 26 because I needed health insurance because my narcolepsy medication costs $300+ a month and I’ve had a few bouts of cancer). Advice on how to handle situation
So my situation is I'm a level 2 casual trying to get a level 3 contract full time (already working full time hours). In order to do so my direct manager and floor manager need to sign me off on training. I have done all my training and have been doing the amount of work for 4 people. There is just one single thing that I wanted to be reminded about before saying I was fully competent in it. I've been asking my direct manager and my boss all year to do my training so I can be signed off and done, however my manager is refusing to sign off.
