Have I been confused?
Why are we bending over backwards selling ourselves to companies for employment? Shouldn't it equally be, ” here's my “x” experience that matches your job requirements. Now, I can go work for ANY business and make them money, why would I want to make money for YOU? What sets YOU apart from everyone else?” I'm just a dumb carpenter, so excuse me, but I just can't wrap my head around this any longer. I've always felt this way, but figured I was one of only a few until I found this sub.
It's so frustrating. I've emailed 3 places and they just haven't got back to me. I've seen people post on here about similar situations. I don't understand why it isn't stated on the job ad….. Of course I want to know what the pay is before I apply for a job!!
So I work in Finance as an Analyst and my director just so happens to be an accountant that just feels the need to correct the way I do every little thing and not in a pedagogical manner like I understand that given the experience he has I can learn from him but the dude will literally ask me to modify perfect excel sheets just to fit what he thinks an analysis should look like then come back 5 minutes later to tell me to modify it back to what it was when I first sent it to him. I can’t stand this type of people I just i dont know i gotta vent so yeah thanks for reading
Can I get some future?
So I just quit my job.
No warning, no regrets. I've been wanting to quit for a while now. I've been there 3 years and only went from 9.75 an hour to 12 an hour. We would work 6 hours with no breaks while standing the entire time, it's been hell on my feet. It's not like my boss respected my time. And multiple occasions he would make me stay past my scheduled time for an hour, just long enough to make sure I did not get a break. I also just found out the new starting wage is 11 and I did not get any sort of raise for that too. I'm glad I'm free from it now, don't know why it took so long. Luckily my bills are low and I have some money saved, so it's not a big deal.
