Wage Slave
The guy that made a 15 million dollar bonus tells me I’m overpaid…
I don't have anything to lose or a wage be garnished. If you all are interested in updates I'll update every few months. It's been one month and so far it's only been two emails alerting me as to missed payment. Statute of limitations to be pursued for repayment is 3 years in my state. I know this is going to trigger many and that's understandable and you shouldn't have to work as hard as you are. Project in the comments if you like.
I work at a chain sub shop and when I did the interview, the manager wrote down that I would be making 10.50 and in four weeks they would give me a raise to what I asked for. I agreed to this and I would not have taken less. The third day on the job my boss tells me that the payroll people screwed up and that I am making 9.50. I told him that’s fine as long as he fixes it for next pay period. Long story short three weeks later and he hasn’t fixed it, and tells me they will comp me in free food. We had a written agreement on a higher pay, so my question is, is this even legal?
so my boss does this thing to me and all my coworkers where if we come in early/ cant take a break she'll just edit our time sheets and take that time out of the paycheck. i work the front desk at a country club, sometimes i work almost 9 hours alone and i cant leave for a break unless theres someone else there. i tried explaining this but she still takes the time out and says something about finances and corporate and if you come in early or even stay late she takes that time away too i want to quit but my parents wont let me, they say holding a job for a long time looks good on a college application (even though ive explained to them i want to go to a technical school, not college). since im 16 i cant really do much without their permission…
Share your experiences. Mine is over 100 carts being broken as a cart attendant for several months and me having to either rush or run out of carts constantly all day on weekends. It‘s so frustrating because it makes me wear myself out for no reason.
