So my prospective employer insisted on doing a verification check with my current employer after making an offer on contingency of that. My manager just approached me this morning to talk about it. i’m starting a WFH job soon and i’m worried about becoming isolated and not having a life outside of my house.

Today my boss shouted at me for no apparent reason, and said some hurtful words. It actually hurt me a lot but I still didn't said anything. Are you paying me for a certain amount of time, or are you paying me to complete a certain amount of tasks? If it's time, I will be present for those X hours each day but don't expect an extra minute–unless we want to increase the pay. If it's tasks, I will complete said tasks quickly and efficiently. Don't expect to pile on more–unless we want to increase the pay.
