I don’t know if this post has been done before, but as I read through some of these horror stories, I often wonder… what is the ideal career/job? Generally: How long should someone have to work during a day (if at all)? How much should someone be paid? What benefits should be supported by work? How much vacation/personal time should someone receive? How long should someone work until retirement?

So many subs here and other online communities have the rule “no political speech.” It's also a shunned conversation topic at work and at social gatherings. Isn't politics basically a study of our relationships with other humans? If we can't talk to one another about it, can we ever solve any social problems? Would we do better if we just banned calling each other idiots in all caps and making up cute names like “Dumb Donald” and “Sleepy Joe” to obscure actual political speech?
Hi Reddit, So Ive been at my new job for about 5 months making $20/hr. At first I really enjoyed my position, but now I’ve been assigned new duties with a heavy work load and backlog. Since I’m still fairly new I tried talking to my supervisor about additional help from another employee or go back to my previous duties, which was denied. I was a little disappointed because I kind of feel like my work ethic is being taken advantage of in comparison to my co-workers. I have the opportunity to go to my old job, that I liked but the pay is 18.50/hr. I have the option to do overtime, but the extra time conflicts with my time to study for school. By the way, I live on my own otherwise I wouldn’t be stressing out about a extra few bucks. What would you do?

Two remote jobs?
Need some advice. If I work two remote jobs, do I have to let the employer know or can i get away with it? Is there anyway they can find out? For context, i work in the finance industry…
PIPs performance Improvement Plans
I just got a PIP today. All the reasons listed for the PIP are very clear they are more because of manager's inability to actually manage a remote employee. I'm beyond frustrated but I pretended that I was grateful for the opportunity to improve. I personally think PIPs should be illegal or that employees should be able to submit PIPs on their managers. I'm also torn between signing it or waiting. My boss said she's not giving it to HR. But I have an interview for another role today internally so I'm going to hold off on it. Ugh, I just want to quit my job and start a little cafe. I hate corporate America.
Quit With No Notice
A couple years ago I quit a job at the transmap corporation out of Hilliard Ohio. Look em up on glass doors they're truly wretched. The reviews will make you sick. Just to give you an idea though… It was a pavement inventory GPS/GIS job. There was some travel across the US which was cool, but it was back breaking sun up to sun down work. If you were in the field you could expect 100 hour weeks. The pay was abysmal for that field. Terrible benefits. You'd never get vacation. The only way to get a day off was to work OT for it. Worst of all though, was the management. Dude would cuss you up and down in front of the entire staff of like 15 people just for kicks. You'd be told how incompetent you are, how you'll never get a raise, and you wouldn't even get…
You know it’s true.
