“Nobody wants to work…”

I’ve heard multiple employers of mine say this common phrase when trying to hire and coming up unsuccessful while we’re understaffed at whatever menial labor I’m working at the time. I can’t help but laugh and think, “No truer statement has ever been said.” “Nobody wants to work” is a phrase used negatively by people who value work and think it’s meaningful. They use this phrase negatively toward people who don’t value work and would prefer to find a loophole in the system that will allow them to not work but still be given money to exist in a world in which they did not choose to exist in the first place. Yes, nobody wants to work. Why would anybody want to work? Humans work because they’re forced to since they need to survive, and money is required to access the things needed to survive, and the only way to…

Local Dollar Tree starting wage $7.35 per hour.

Do the math. Before taxes, that’s $294 per week. After taxes it’s… what? Like $191.10…? Let’s round up to $200 a week. That means a max $867 take home a month and $10,400 a year. FULL TIME. How can anyone look at these wages and not be outraged?

Workplace that Randomly Laid Me Off Last Year Not Sending my W2

May 2021, the owner of a job I had last year had called me to lay me off after I just pulled a double. All annoyances aside, I was moving and still let them know that I was going to have a change of address for my taxes. Not that I was excepting a reply, I got left on read (means they at least saw it) Fast forward to January 31 of this year, I still haven’t received my W2 and it’s the deadline for employers to send it out. I reached out to the shift manager at the time and they responded they don’t work there anymore either but they also haven’t received it. I emailed the owner and asked for it. I get an email back, saying they never had my social security and that they were trying to call me but I never answered. I found it…

Bakery Manager is upset with me for being a full time college student but he doesn’t pay a living wage.

Imo, employers who don’t pay a living wage shouldn’t be upset about people who wanna to go to college and do better for themselves. I was told today that I wouldn’t be able to learn how to make chocolates or fillings and that I would be strictly only “front house” aka cashier since I don’t have work enough hours (read: full-time) to be in the back. I even offered Monday and Wednesday hours that were in-line with the hours they produce chocolate. He said no, that is only for full-time workers. Like what the heck. Sorry that I want to do better for myself and don’t want to live on a poverty wage forever.

My coworker told me to “go beat my wife.”

Little backstory: there is a coworker I have, a woman, very rude, obnoxious, toxic to work with. Her and another coworker known for having a bad attitude were training a new hire last week, they treated her horribly. She ended up leaving the shift crying. She went and told our boss about it. Then, two days ago, I got pulled into the office to explain what happened and give my side. I was honest about these coworkers attitudes and how this isn't the first time they have shown this kind of toxic behavior and it needs to be addressed. Then, my boss assigned me to train the new worker. I accepted. I left the office to go begin training her, and around that time the toxic coworker shows up. She immediately rudely asks me if I had performed a task at work that has shared responsibility, and got angry when…

So, I think I hate Temp agencies, a lot.

Well let's make a long story short, previously worked two jobs one being entry-level sales $20/hr-31 miles away from where I live( So 1.18-hour drive back and forth), and decided to look for part-time work to replace my current job and save up for starting investing in online real estate, and open up possible online ventures, using my skills and trade. (Sorry sales vibe showing itself: Hint. If you're ever looking to start an online venture, focus on items with low overhead. build on *value*, and also scarcity for a quick sale, before people notice you are trying to sell them useless junk. Also if your using a timer on your website make sure it works, otherwise you just look dumb when the timer clicks down and the price stays the same, it kind of looks bad (Example Price Point, and fear tactics(Cap): Digital product 300…
