Hey guys. I’ve been unemployed for about 2 months. I quit my job because I was super unhappy there. I had no backup plan or anything. I started applying for jobs constantly but the last couple weeks I haven’t been. To top it off I hardly ever hear back from any of the jobs I apply to. I feel I have no motivation to work anymore. I’m only in my late 20s. I don’t want to keep doing this anymore. Customer service jobs are the worst but it’s the only kind of experience I really have. Ideally, I would like to work from home again. Does anyone else ever feel unmotivated? What do you do when you feel like that? And does anyone have any kind of WFH that isn’t soul crushing? Thank you guys.

Anti-neurodiversity hiring bias is real.
My husband had 4 interviews with a very well know paint company for a district manager position he is well qualified for. They offered him the position during the last interview BUT they told him he would have to work as a store associate for a YEAR at $9.00/hour so he could “learn the business”. Apparently this new “process” was coming down from the new corporate leadership. Although he wanted to flip the table and storm out, he countered and offered to work as an associate for 90 days and then be paid the DM salary and shadow another DM as training (with an agreement in writing, of course). He explained that 90 days would be more than enough time for all parties to determine if he was a good fit for the role. Interviewer said he would take it to his boss and see what they could work out.…

Organizational Meeting
So 16 people on our team got an email invite to a meeting in 1 hour from that time and the subject was the same as the title of this blurb. Our team was an internal facing strictly back office support team which was a huge reason for most of the people taking the job. At the “organizational meeting” we were informed most of our team would be moving to a new department in 2 days where we would be expected to take 30-40 calls from external customers dealing with decedent situations. FUCK THAT NOISE! Have several interviews lined up and am going to use up sick days and PTO then give weeks notice max maybe even just couple days or ghost em….TBD.
I make shift differential on both shifts I work. If I take a day off they will cut it and I'll make standard pay for that day. I work 16hr shifts so that literally fucks me out of most of my pay if I take a day off. Is this legal???
work shifts
So I have been away from work for 8 weeks to deal with family stuff (like out of the country), and there's a new work supervisor. When I got back last week I asked (via email) if there were any changes to my work and my boss/supervisor said that the current work roster is full and that they will be in touch when shifts open up. However, the contract email I signed in December explicitly said that my work schedule will be Thursday to Sunday, 10 to 5pm, so should I just show up tomorrow and expect to get paid? Or should I email them first and say hey, I'm coming to work tomorrow, you must pay me? I feel like the former is better but also it's a part time job and I really want to grow in this organisation, but they really screwed me over by basically saying…
