It was my Monday last night (freight thrower during graveyard shift), and I came in for 10-15 minutes before I walked out. Came home to paint, and I feel so relieved to be done with that cycle of bullshit. Focusing on art and education for the time being!!! Upon returning from my weekend, I saw several carts of freight in the back (which hadn’t been worked by my coworker the days prior), unwrapped pallets of random freight, etc. Last week I worked the back stock and all random carts out of the back room, sorting it, etc. Time and time again my coworker has left me his messes to clean up. I worked for amazon and ended up becoming disabled as a result of working there. Its now very difficult to pay my bills due to only receiving 75% of the $16 an hour wage I was getting there. Due to being in pain all of the time, Im completely removed from the workforce. I found out that you can earn $650 a month donating plasma so I went. When I first got there the nurse told me that I needed to leave and go eat more. So I go to a grocery store to buy some cheap croissants thinking this would be enough. My card gets declined so I have to ask the cashier to take off 3 of these croissants. As I leave she throws them in the trash. Waste. Not her fault, but it disgusted me nonetheless. The practice I am referring to is when an employee gives a two week notice at their old company and the old employer finds out who the new employer is and tries to sabotage the employee's chances at the new job before they even started. You usually see this when someone is leaving to a competitor or the employee has a specialized skill. I've seen this happen to a couple people I've known, and I've called it reverse poaching, but there's got to be an actual, better term for it.

I live in a bad part of town, so there’s hardly any places available (let alone jobs) and the only jobs currently available are minimum wage ($7.25-9.00) and/or are very dangerous working environments (constantly on the news for being robbed, a death scene, a shootout etc) and I now avoid these jobs because they literally aren’t worth it. I constantly experience lack of decent job opportunities based on where I live. And before people say “a job is a job”, I have worked at a restaurant on/off for 4 years (amongst other jobs) and my highest wage was $8.10/hr there, even though I was a trainer!! Gas cost about $300-400 every two weeks and I was eventually paying to go to work at some points and had to constantly eat food from work just to make ends meet. I didn't even know this sub existed until last month but had I known when I was still working at this place, I could go on for hours about the endless bullshit that went on there. For the sake of privacy, lets call this place Hell-mart and my manager SM or sadisitic manager. Now I have had life long spinal issues and when seeking employment, I make this very known. Usually I'm accomoded and we have no issues. At hell-mart, I worked in the back of the store keeping stock and getting shit where it needs to go so while standing most of the day, I'm not putting strain on my back and the job gets done. My love last year transferred stores for work, moving cross state to do so, he was promised a set schedule and availability. However the past few weeks he's been denied it, so this valentines we won't be together because of it, it's been to the point we barely get 1 day to eachother a week. We talked to his coworkers turns out the main boss is a misandrist, she needed a male worker to do bathroom checks and meet requirements to run the store because she forced/fired the rest, so what we gather is that he transferred store to only be a scapegoat for her and with this preasure is basically being forced to quit.
