What are some effective ways to push back against coming back into office full time?

I think Glassdoor review would help encourage incoming workers push for the benefit. Any other ideas?

Why do I feel guilty for taking time off due to my medical issues? MDD & Migraines.

I have disability and accommodation status at work due to Major Depressive Disorder and migraine headaches. A few times a month, (usually 1 or 2 days max) I am unable to attend work due to these issues. I’m not fully disabled as I can go to work the majority of the time, but every day is an absolute struggle. I was diagnosed almost 10 years ago. Why do I still feel guilty af when I need to take time due to these issues? I have a very supportive workplace who has said this is not a problem. (I’m a unionized public employee). After my sick time is drained, I do not receive pay for the hours I miss. (I’m used to the budget probs, it just comes with the territory of having prolonged illness) Again I only average about 1-2 days missed per month. I’ve come a long way with…

nosy boss

I was just hired at a cpa firm last month. I immediately let my boss know that I had a surgical procedure scheduled, and I would be unable to work 1/9-1/13. This was scheduled before I started the job and I was unable to change the date. On Friday 1/13 I emailed my boss telling her I was still feeling unwell and needed an extra day off (Monday 1/16). She replied on Monday midday saying since I needed an extra day, she now wants a note from my doctor proving I was “in his care” and released to return to work. I initially ignored this because I released myself to return to work by coming back in on Tuesday. Just now, she again asked for a note and I told her I released myself and questioned why she wanted a post dated note from the doctor and she said she…

Why is it we can never get promoted, but are expected to train the new person?

I work at a Home Services Company and I applied to be the new Permitting Coordinator after the previous one quit. Boss told me I wouldn’t be able to get a raise and that I would mess up a department when I take vacations so they don’t recommend me taking that job. BUT every single time we get a new permit admin for another trade, they train with me because “I am the senior permitting admin” despite being the newest one, and when we get a coordinator they are sitting with me so I can train them So I’m good enough to teach them but not enough to lead. Fucking hypocrisy

Toxic work environment means no 2 weeks notice.

I worked for a company called WIS International they were an inventory company so we would go into stores before they open and count all the stuff on the shelves. The job itself wasn't too bad but the people there were insufferable and so was managment. You didn't get a certain number of hours a week they just put you on a schedule and you would have to show up. We also did stores far away so we would do stores is Salt Lake city which is like 2 and a half hours drive and would also do overnight jobs in like Boise and stuff where they would put us in hotel rooms. Because we were far away and would have to get to stores early, often times we would meet up to get in the company van at like 2 am or earlier. Multiple times I would be on…

should my pay increase due to raised minimum wage?

My state's minimum wage was $12.75/hr. It's now $13.80. I'm making $14. Is it worth bringing up to my boss that I would like my pay to reflect this difference and ask for what I guess would technically be a raise?

I’m sick and management said that they “need me” to work tomorrow because of short staff.

Last time I checked, my health is more important. I work in the food industry and I don’t think anyone wants a sick person handling their food. Lack of staff is totally not my problem. I’m sick and need to rest, dammit.
