I used to work at a National Office Supply store chain. A Depot of sorts. I had been having some major pain in my testes so I called out one day to go see my doctor about it. My wife is a teacher
My wife is a teacher in the Missouri state school system. The county she works for is currently debating giving all the teachers in her district a “bonus” based on the economy. She makes ~38k per year, and is on a 6 year pay scale. Their rationale: Schools insurance is increasing 5%. Inflation numbers just hit 7.5%. Gas and food prices are up 30% or more. Their bonus offer: no annual pay raise (didn’t do one last year either), but instead you get a one time payment of 500 dollars. That’s hardly 1.5%. I told her to just quit. With minimum wage getting increased it would be easier for her to be an hourly worker. The stress would be lower, and she would work way less. Pay wouldn’t hardly change at all. Wtf is happening to this country.
If the government didn’t let anyone become a billionaire then we wouldnt have amazon, netflix, starbucks the apple products and hundreds of more things that we use that makes out life better or easier. People sometimes need to think rationally and realistically before they say “billionaires shouldn’t exist”.
