So we’re going to say her name on a group call and tell her she’s great. Yay! Thanks for more money for the executives and uh, good luck to you!!
This happened about 30 minutes ago. Went to go help a friend move, they hired some movers as well. One of the movers tripped and hit his head on the road, we called 911 because he couldn’t remember what year it was or who the president was, his eye was really swollen and there was blood. His coworker says their boss’ policy is that no customer can call an ambulance, they have to call him and then he will call if he thinks they need it. The ambulance comes and they check him out and the EMTs say he needs to go to the hospital, but the movers boss calls and makes him refuse the ride and go to a walk in clinic instead. Is there anything I can do, or someone I can call? Is this even legal? If I find out any more of the story I’ll update…
Boycott the World Cup
Worker exploitation in Qatar has resulted in more than 6,500 worker deaths as they seek to establish infrastructure to support the 2022 World Cup. https://www.npr.org/2021/02/27/972056906/report-reveals-more-than-6-500-migrant-workers-have-died-in-qatars-world-cup-pre?t=1644547063143 The number reported by most media outlets is far lower but only covers deaths directly resulting from stadium construction (or so they say). Even excluding certain nations who have sent thousands of migrant workers to Qatar, over 6,500 migrant workers have died during construction of roads, hotels, airports and more. This doesn't even take into consideration the human trafficking tragedies these efforts often lead to. I'm a lifelong soccer fan with a special connection to international play. The World Cup being hosted in Qatar is one of the most embarrassing things to have happened in the sport and there's barely any coverage on it. Why would there be? The media largely benefits from World Cup viewership so why would they report that thousands of lives…
Thomas More Knew 500 Years Ago.
From a crumpled bag of M&M’s from two Halloween’s ago that the boss found in his back closet, to a bottom barrel coffee mug that will give you cancer if you drink out of it: every step of the corporate ladder KNOWS that it is utter BS. The true reason ( I think ) is to justify idle billable hours. Mabey the heads/bosses booked a dinner, and are using this discussion as an excuse of a “ meeting” on company dollar. Mabey they dileberately spent hours passively talking about which “thank you gift” saves them .001 if a penny per gift. These gifts are simply a vector to pad how many hours the heads “worked”. Either to justify why they are such “hard workers” or to justify another “ well earned bonus for company commitment”
I’m a nanny and the entire family tested positive less than a week ago for Covid. I know their two kids went to school the following Monday, which I understand. But they also expected me in. When I got there the grandmother said that her daughter wasn’t back at work because she wasn’t supposed to be but rather running errands. When I picked up there oldest from school he kept yelling he had Covid but wasn’t contagious. The mother got home early and said she still wasn’t feeling well. And to top it all off not of this was communicated to me before hand and none of them wore a mask. Even though the cdc 5 day isolation guidelines were met, some family members seemed to have symptoms, and they wanted me in their home where they have been sick for a week. I guess I’m just feeling frustrated. I’m…
