“This is Gertrude, my fiancé. I missed our wedding, honeymoon, and divorce. She died cause of loneliness…” In my 26 years, like Montgomery Burns, I lost 4 friends and 11 buddies, woman I loved, my aunt, uncle and grandma’s funerals due to hard working. It wasn’t a big deal, I have money and paying all checks, will call them later. For now, none of them will answer my call. Someone just hate me, someone is dead. Greed. Greed is good. But it’s cold deep dark void that drains you and later you starting to love it, because you don’t have anything else.
Advice please
So I work in a halfway decent environment, not awful but also not where I wanna be. Anyways turns out one of my colleagues and (retail fwiw) has apparently been telling associates (we hold lower management rolls) that I said something to make him so mad he hates me. I’m not bothered by him hating me, but I am bothered he’s involving more severely underpaid employees that have no business in his personal drama, an associate was the one to tell me about this. I have no idea what I could’ve said to make him hate me, nor do I care, he should’ve taken it up with HR if it’s that bad. What actions am I able to take in order for him to realize that what he did was unethical? Would it be within my rights to bring this issue to HR? TLDR: Not sure how, but made someone…
2 week notice
Can one send in a two weeks resignation letter when on days off?
Will this ever go beyond circle jerking?
I’ve been loving this sub since I joined, it’s just so validating and encouraging knowing that there’s so much people that thinks the same way and is tired of the abuse. However, will this ever go beyond feeling bad for ourselves and looking for self-gratification? I get it’s great to get moral support from each other and share our experiences, but we aren’t changing anything important this way. We need to take action if we want things to be different. Are there any movements pushing for a change or any intentions to protest at least? I’m asking genuinely. It’s crazy that in a few days antivaxxers have achieved so much more concerning a questionable cause, yet we aren’t doing anything to fight for stuff like universal healthcare, affordable housing, decent working conditions, etc… It’s frustrating kinda.
tldr: Just gonna cut to the chase I left work without 2 weeks notice thanks to this sub and it is the best I have felt in a long time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND First post on reddit don't know if I am doing this right but for those who are interested here is what happened: I started of naive and believed that working lots whilst at college(UK, different to what Americans call college) would give me a head start in life. I was seriously wrong, I began work at the end of October at McDonald's with a open mind and working four shifts a week. Soon enough this took an effect on my mental health however I tried to push through it. It was about around December time when I found this sub and was liking the confidence that you guys have to stand up to these companies. Truly inspirational. I…
Should I turn in my two weeks notice?
I’ve been working at this small local cafe for about 3-4 months now, and I recently found out that I’m still considered as an independent contractor. My coworker who got hired a month after me, told me she has been getting paid more and has officially become a part-time worker. Not only am I annoyed by this, but the owner of the cafe has been treating me like shit. I had difficult time learning the menu and the recipes in the beginning, and she would constantly compare me with other co workers. In the beginning I felt awful that I just couldn’t seem to be doing anything right, and it was so frustrating because I really was trying my best. But after finally having some shifts with my co workers, I realized that it was just a shitty place to work at. The owner didn’t start giving us tips until…
I have 6 weeks paid medical leave
Most people who have had the procedure I underwent a week ago go back to work in about two weeks. My job is protected and I am getting pay under short term disability. For context, I work in healthcare and we are always incredibly short staffed. I tend to get upwards of 20-28 hours of overtime per pay period. I was starting to feel guilty because I am feeling good and realistically could probably go back after the usual two weeks people take. This sub helps. I am going to try to bask in my paid time off and really fully recover. Thank you all
