Advice needed: escaping corporate
Hey folks, TL;DR: Question: Do I make the jump from corporate (one of the big techs having layoffs) non-profit? I've been working in IT support for 15 years. A year ago I finally got directly employed by one of the big tech companies, before that I was always employed through a vendor. This was an especially big deal for me as this happened despite me having no experience with their product. My team and direct management are fantastic, but a fee months ago activist investors got in and since then things have been different, from Return to Office mandates to now layoffs. My team is safe, we are actually one of the few teams hiring. Still, before we got the confirmation (earlier this week, after waiting for a month) I did a tentative search for something else. What I found was a non-profit that sets up and manages cloud-based software…
