Interview at 2

I had an interview at 2pm today and I showed up 2 mins early, doesn’t really matter tho, front desk guy ask me the whole “how can I help you, blah blah blah” so he tells me to sit the hiring manager is with someone. I give it 5mins and he’s still not done with her, they’re in this desk area away from the entrance but I can hear them. Another guy walks in and sits on the other side of the guy interviewing. Front desk guy goes over to him and mentions my name, we all just look at each other, then there’s a lady who wants to sign for a membership. So he goes and gives her a tour of the place. I give it another 5 mins and this hiring manager still isn’t done and doesn’t look like he’s gonna be done for another 5-10 mins. So…

I Almost Walked Out Today

So I clock in at 7AM and the store owner sends the drive through person and the fry station person on break leaving just the owner and myself. Now I never run drive through; fry station (sometimes) and front counter. I don't mind running drive through if there's adaquet help, but when it's just you and you have to do six different things it can be overwhelming. Anyways being the early morning everyone is enroute to work and things become busy. To the point I can't even fill up someones Dr. Pepper before the next ding for someone wanting to place na order. It was just a constant busyness. Now the stora manager is talking to one of her leads and the other person taking a break and also the maintenance guy just trashing me. Saying how I'm slow, making mistakes, how she shouldn't be required to help me, that…

Do you think Reddit ever demotes or hides posts advertisers don’t agree with?

I mean, Reddit is a business, and seeing as they are taking venture capital, I'm wondering if it would hurt a subreddit such as this one. If advertisers disagree with certain types of content, it would make sense to try to appease them, no? Mostly with inverstors watching? I don't have proof of anything, not even suspicions. This is nothing more than conjecture… But it's not impossible. Money is money. And for the future, do you trust Reddit to remain neutral?

Upper management should spend a few days a month or more doing the work their employees do

I don't care how high up the corporate ladder you are, if your making decisions that impact the everyday worker than you should be able to step into their shoes from time to time to remind you how your restructuring, budgeting etc effect their work lives. I don't think CEOs, VPs or any other upper level managers understand how their lower level employees days go. This goes across the board for most jobs. They make changes at the executive level that impact everyone without careful consideration of their employees. In a world run by the idea of profit this viewpoint probably will stay a pipe dream of mine especially in the US but I think a good CEO or VP would benefit from doing the hard work every now and then just to keep things in perspective. At least go undercover boss for a few days haha

How about a big fat, honkin’ NO from me!

So, I just accepted a job with a merchandising company (which I won't disclose for obvious reasons since I just got this job and need it horribly.) I recieved an email about two hours ago, “welcoming” me to “the team”. Rah rah, yeah yeah. (I hate corporate pleasantries. Shut up, just give me the details!). Anyway, they gave my start date, who to meet with, dress code, etc. At the end of the email, they “invited” me to “follow them on social media”. I'm not obligated, but it gives me the heebie jeebies and makes me laugh that they think I don't see the underlying purpose of this “invite”. I see your stalkin' ass! Now, I don't have any of the social media they suggested except one. That one account that I DO have is not for business purposes, it's personal…for my OWN entertainment. I didn't follow them, obviously, but…

Checkout menu for a carryout order from Crumbl. $3 is the pre-selected option, and you have to manually enter $0 if you don’t want to tip. I was a delivery driver and lived on tips for a while, but this just seems like a way to offload the responsibility of paying workers onto the consumer.

No christmas bonus

My mum works as a carer and was told everyone would be receiving a £100 Christmas bonus in February. They said they were only allowed the bonus if they did not take a sick day until then. Covid then spread around her coworkers and my mum also got it. Of course, they’re not allowed to work with covid bc they work with older and vulnerable people. So everyone who had to isolate aren’t aloud the bonus now. It’s so infuriating because they work their asses off just to receive nothing in return.

I feel bad for those being let go due to corporate greed and fuck ups. Even worse for those with kids…

And that is why I decided that I will most likely not have any. I am already 33 years old, and probably not going to change my mind.
