I got covid at the very beginning of the month and my sick pay and PTO just renewed with 30 hours of sick and vacation. I asked my boss to just do 2 days off sick pay for me in the 8 days off that I had and they used all 30hours of my PTO while I was off. I didn’t find out until this month when I tried to request off for my college graduation and it said -3 hours of vacation time. When I asked they said they used all my time to cover my days off and now I somehow have negative vacation time? They won’t explain it to me and said that since I was already paid for that time I can’t get the hours back.

A 4 day work week in our lifetime?
I work for one of the giant evil corporations and recently secured a transfer to another division of the company. Today missed a call for a government contract for IT services that was posted last year so the wage was not posted in the req. I called back and let them know that I already accepted a position and would like to know what the schedule is and what their budget for the wage was. She advised me that I would have to call someone else for that information as she did not have it and did not want to give me mis-information. so I called the next person, left a message and waited. The woman that called me and that I spoke with initially called me back to tell me that the schedule was m-th 4/10 and if i interviewed they would tell me the wage. I audibly…
Recently, the company I work with hired a consultant and we were informed that this person's goal would be to help improve the work culture and build a stronger team among employees. A lot of us assumed that this meant we would be meeting with the consultant as a team to learn more about how we could actually work together to build a system of support between colleagues since we have a very hands-off supervisor that is absent 99% of the time. She's never around to help provide feedback/advice, and the minute anyone approaches her to get help she tells them “we'll have an ongoing conversation about that” and then doesn't do shit about it or do anything to help address the issue. So a lot of us thought ok, well maybe she'll finally listen to what we have to say after we share our experiences with the consultant. We…
I live in a major metropolitan city and supervisor jobs in my field do not come around often so I keep my ear to the ground. When the head of HR at this company contacted me about interviewing for a job there in a senior position I said, I would at least give it a shot. I went earlier this week and had a good interview with the bosses and they told me they wanted to offer me a job and so I just asked what the salary range was for the position and I was kind of taken aback for two reasons. The first is it’s significantly less what I’m making now for a similar position and the second is that I remember applying and interviewing for the supervisory position back in 2019 and the salary offer has not changed 1 cent from what I was offered the first…
