Good afternoon, While I was excited about this opportunity, I will not be pursuing this position any longer. The use of these “personality” and/or “aptitude” tests is an outdated practice. They're pseudo-science at best and inherently biased and discriminatory at worst. Either way it shows me, as a potential employee, that this organization doesn't value or respect employees as individuals. Additionally, as the effectiveness of these has been largely disproved, it shows me that the organization's leadership is relying on misguided beliefs and backwards thinking, certainly in other areas as well as their hiring practices. I worked for about 6 months this time just taking it day by day, drinking of course. Quit about 3 weeks ago, now I'm out of money. Hopefully I'll get a decent tax return. I get to get another jobs guys, how am i gonna make it thru? I know I'm already gonna tell them I'm traveling for Christmas for a month dec.15 to jan.15. I'm gonna take off on my birthday but damn I don't wanna work

A little rant post: I’ve applied to a number of New York City and New York State gov jobs. I have no interest in civil service but my family is very insistent that I apply and it ultimately takes no time. I have started getting emails about “hiring pools” Essentially, you and many other people are called to come to the location at 9 AM and they interview you according to some order. By the time they get to you, the position may or may not be filled! It literally says this. They want you to take a day off work and you’re not even guaranteed an interview. Meanwhile they complain they can’t find people to come to these! This makes no fucking sense. They literally are using the worst possible model for interview scheduling.

I think it’s time to revisit rule 7. Sure, cops have no place here, but after a post was removed because it was from a landlord, I think it’s time to reasses. The person in question was trying to learn and understand, at least that was my impression before it disappeared. They were interacting in a polite, respectful, and inquisitive. I believe that refusing to engage with other parties and view points will leave this sub a glorified venting session that won’t, in the end, change much if anything. It’s very much become an echo chamber and honestly a bit redundant in post content: Yes, what your asking is wrong but probably not illegal. Time/wage theft is illegal. Me personally? After everything thus far? When I told my boss that my co-workers should tell me upfront about faults as to better improve instead of waiting and telling her as to not let things fester. For which she replied that they did the right thing of telling her instead of me. For which she then tells me “I’m tired of you playing blame games.”
