I am going to preface this with saying I am enjoying my job so far, and I just want to see if yall think it's worth it. I am a fairly recent grad with a degree in Ocean engineering (civil engineering with waves and beaches). Straight out of school, I got a job as a field engineer for a dredging company, making around 80k/yr. After about a year at that company, I had a friend put me onto a job as an offshore Geotechnical engineer. My hourly rate currently is 31.25 (65k @ 40hrs/week) with 2 weeks paid vacation. The reason I took the new job is because on my offshore rotation, we work an 84 hr week, which more than doubles the pay. I was recently just fired from a job from what I feel is unjust retaliation for whistleblowing, I live in an employee at will state but I’m remembering now I never signed any paper work at the job so i never signed that form. When I was first hired they just asked for my id and social and that’s all. Am I able to fire a lawsuit for the retaliation

I work as an in home care aid for the elderly and disabled and make as much money (and this includes hazard pay) as fast food cooks. Don’t get me wrong, they do a difficult job but the things I do for my clients would fill an encyclopedia. Especially during covid when healthcare professionals are in such high demand. The overwhelming stress that comes with my job will probably kill me by age 50. I’m sorry for being so dark but this is my reality.
