Chairs are only for hurt people?

One of my coworkers is on light duty working cuz they hurt themselves. As a result they are just putting clips on parts all day. Because they're hurt they get to sit in a chair while they do it. Other coworkers have asked if they could also sit in a chair since they're doing the exact same job and it's obviously possible to do sitting. They were told no because “he only gets to sit because he's injured. If you're not injured we need to make sure you look like you're being productive and it would also not be fair to the people not currently in that job.” I don't understand why this matters!! If the job can get done at the same pace (or honestly faster since you won't be in pain from bending over so much) then why cant they let people sit?? I don't even do the…

I don't even do the job ever but it seems so messed up that because they don't get what they think is the visual of production that they'd rather people continue to be in pain to satisfy their own sight even though in reality production doesn't lessen either way.
