Change of Scenery

This will be my first post on Reddit, so hello everyone! I'll keep this short but I had a thought I wanted to share. I figured at this point in my life, I'm probably not going to be an entrepreneur (work on my own terms) or become rich (LOL). I'll most likely end up having to work a “9-5” for the rest of my life. It's not something I'm “happy” with but have come to terms with. I live in a place that gets the seasons in terms of weather in the US (hot in the summer, cold in the winter, etc), but thought to myself, I hate the cold. Now, if I'm going to end up doing this 9-5 business for the rest of my life, along with the fact that the standard age of retiring may rise a year or two by the time I get close…

Now, if I'm going to end up doing this 9-5 business for the rest of my life, along with the fact that the standard age of retiring may rise a year or two by the time I get close (my luck), I said to myself, why not work in a place where the weather is what I want it to be? Warm. If I'm going to wake up every day, 5 maybe even 6 days a week, why not at least work in an environment where my spirits will be up more? I haven't discussed this thought with my s.o. yet, but they know that I want more than the life we've been living now.

So, will we have to work the rest of our lives (short of hitting the lottery)? Yeah, but I can't help but think a change of scenery might make life a little better, especially in the long term. It would be a big move for us, but the “routine” life I hoped for isn't exactly the life I envisioned with the world being how it is these days.
