Chicago Lyric Opera cancels employee end of season party two days before it’s scheduled.

A friend of mine works there in front of house staff and told me about this. They received notice via email with no explanation as to why. I know how much they look forward to this every season, and it’s a standing tradition. I mean, I know it’s not a huge deal, but it just seems rude and disrespectful to cancel two days before. The Lyric goes on in the email to thank them for a “wonderful 2021-2022 season”. They then have the temerity to say “let’s end…on a positive note.” You know what would have been a positive note? A damn party! Thanks for letting me vent.
